The history of the Upper Deck story started in 1988 by the founder, owner and ceo Richard McWilliam. With a passionate focus on high quality pristine gem mint craftsmanship, innovation and cutting-edge technology, The Upper Deck Company revolutionized the sports trading card experience in 1989 and raised the bar and standards of collectible cards to a new all-time high level. Step four, a certificate of authenticity is assigned to every piece of autographed memorabilia and includes a matching hologram to the one affixed autographed memorabilia item. Step five, every piece of signed memorabilia is packaged with an UD registration card. The owner has the opportunity to register the item with Upper Deck Authenticated (UDA). If for some reason the item is sold and/or transferred to a new owner, a full detailed record of the item's history is readily available.
